Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Base

  • 36 Vanilla Oreos (about 15 ounces)
  • 1 8-ounce block cream cheese, softened

Coating

  • 1416 ounces white chocolate melts
  • Red oil-based food coloring (optional)
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and set it aside to chill the truffles later.
  2. Crush Oreos: Place the Oreos in a food processor and pulse in 10-second bursts until the cookies become fine crumbs.
  3. Mix Truffle Base: Transfer the Oreo crumbs to a mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese, and mix thoroughly, preferably by hand, until fully combined into a uniform dough.
  4. Form Truffle Balls: Use a 1.5-tablespoon cookie scoop to portion the dough onto the prepared sheet. Roll each scoop into a smooth ball. Freeze for 30 minutes or refrigerate for 1 hour to firm up.
  5. Melt Chocolate: Gently melt the white chocolate either in the microwave using 20-second intervals with stirring or over a double boiler on low heat until completely smooth.
  6. Add Coloring: If coloring the chocolate, add drops of red oil-based food coloring once melted, mixing gradually to reach the desired shade.
  7. Dip Truffles: Using a fork, dip each chilled truffle completely into the melted chocolate, tap off excess coating, and place back on the parchment-lined sheet.
  8. Apply Drizzle (Optional): For a drizzle decoration, chill the dipped truffles in the fridge or freezer for about 10 minutes, then drizzle with extra chocolate as desired.
  9. Add Sprinkles (Optional): While the chocolate coating is still wet, sprinkle with your choice of decorations. Allow the chocolate to set at room temperature for about 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Use oil-based food coloring to color white chocolate to avoid seizing.
  • If white chocolate melts are not available, high-quality white chocolate bars can be chopped and melted instead.
  • Chilling times can be adjusted based on your freezer or fridge temperature.
  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
  • For a vegan version, substitute cream cheese and white chocolate with vegan alternatives.
