Oreo Pops
- 12 Oreo cookies
- 12 lollipop sticks
Chocolate Coatings
- 1 cup white chocolate chips or white candy melts
- 1 cup milk or dark chocolate chips or candy melts
- Red or pink candy melts (for drizzling)
Decorations
- Valentine’s Day sprinkles
- Separate Oreo Cookies: Carefully twist the Oreo cookies apart, keeping the cream filling on one side to create a stable base for the lollipop stick.
- Insert Lollipop Sticks: Insert a lollipop stick into the cream side of each Oreo. If needed, apply a small amount of melted chocolate to secure the stick firmly. Place the other half of the cookie back on top and gently press to hold it together.
- Freeze Oreo Pops: Place the Oreo pops in the freezer for 5 minutes to firm them up, making the dipping process easier and cleaner.
- Melt Chocolates: Melt the white chocolate chips and the milk or dark chocolate chips separately according to package instructions until smooth and ready for dipping.
- Dip Oreo Pops: Dip each Oreo pop into the melted chocolate of your choice, completely coating the cookie. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off so the coating is even and not too thick.
- Decorate: Place the dipped Oreo pops on a parchment-lined tray. While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle Valentine’s Day sprinkles on top or drizzle melted red or pink candy melts over each pop for a festive finish.
- Set the Pops: Let the Oreo pops set completely at room temperature or speed up the process by refrigerating them until the chocolate hardens.
- Serve or Gift: Once set, serve the Oreo pops on a platter or wrap them individually in cellophane to give as charming homemade Valentine’s Day gifts.
Notes
- To secure the lollipop stick better, a dab of melted chocolate acts as edible glue.
- Use a fork or dipping tool to help coat the Oreo with chocolate evenly without touching it excessively.
- Keep the Oreo pops cool before dipping to prevent cream filling from melting.
- Customize decoration colors and sprinkles to fit other themes or holidays.
- Store the finished pops in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge.
