Ingredients

Scale

Beef Filling

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade blend)
  • 1 cup cooked white rice
  • 1/4 cup water

Sauces & Cheese

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup nacho cheese sauce
  • 1/4 cup chipotle sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Burrito Assembly

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • Butter or oil for grilling

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef: Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat for about 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until fully cooked. Drain any excess grease, then add the taco seasoning packet and 1/4 cup water. Stir well and let it simmer for 5 minutes so the flavors meld together.
  2. Warm the Tortillas: Heat the flour tortillas on a dry skillet or microwave for a few seconds to make them more pliable and easier to roll without breaking.
  3. Assemble the Burrito: Lay each warmed tortilla flat and spread a layer of cooked white rice. On top of the rice, add the seasoned ground beef, followed by dollops of nacho cheese sauce, chipotle sauce, and sour cream. Finally, sprinkle shredded cheddar and mozzarella evenly over the fillings.
  4. Grill the Burrito: Heat a clean skillet and lightly butter or oil it if desired. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of shredded cheese directly onto the skillet. Place the burrito seam-side down onto the melted cheese and grill for 3 to 4 minutes, pressing gently until the cheese melts and forms a crispy crust. Flip the burrito and repeat on the other side until both sides are golden and crispy with melted cheese crust.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add jalapeños or hot sauce to the filling.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • If you prefer a smoother texture, blend the nacho cheese sauce and chipotle sauce before layering.
  • Serve with extra sour cream or guacamole for dipping.
  • Use gluten-free tortillas to make this recipe gluten-free.
