Ingredients

Scale

Buns & Toppings

  • 12 slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 9 slices American cheese
  • 2430 dill pickle slices
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Slider Mixture

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped white onion

Big Mac Style Sauce

  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Make the Big Mac Sauce: In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, sugar, yellow mustard, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to use.
  2. Cook the Beef Mixture: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, finely chopped onion, salt, and black pepper. Cook, stirring and breaking apart the meat, until the beef is fully browned and onions are tender. Drain any excess fat and set aside.
  3. Prepare Baking Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish or an appropriate sheet pan to prevent sticking.
  4. Assemble Bottom Layer: Arrange the bottom halves of the slider buns snugly in the prepared dish. Spread a thin layer of the prepared Big Mac sauce on each bun bottom.
  5. Add Beef and Toppings: Evenly distribute the cooked beef mixture over the sauce-spread buns. Place slices of American cheese evenly on top of the beef, then layer with dill pickle slices.
  6. Bake to Melt Cheese: Place the assembled sliders into the preheated oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese has fully melted.
  7. Add Lettuce and More Sauce: Remove the sliders from the oven. Sprinkle the shredded lettuce over the cheese and top with additional Big Mac sauce to taste.
  8. Prepare Top Buns: Place the top halves of the buns over the sliders. Brush the tops lightly with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds evenly over them.
  9. Toast the Tops: Return the sliders to the oven and bake for an additional 3 to 4 minutes, or until the tops are lightly toasted and golden.
  10. Serve: Slice the sliders apart and serve warm for a delicious crowd-pleasing treat.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef to reduce excess grease and keep sliders juicy.
  • You can substitute Hawaiian rolls for a sweeter bun option.
  • Adjust the amount of pickles to your preference.
  • The Big Mac sauce can be made a day ahead to let flavors meld.
  • For sharper flavor, add extra mustard or pickle relish to the sauce.
  • Toasting the buns adds great texture and prevents sogginess.
  • Serve sliders with extra sauce on the side for dipping.
